Shetalishte Guide: Day 3

Ostrvo Cvijeća — Tivatska Solila — Bigova — Glavatičići
📏 Distance: 19 км ⛰ Elevation gain: ≈ 662 м

Day 3 leads from the Island of Flowers through a bird reserve, along rural roads and forest paths with views of the mountains and the Adriatic Sea.

Nature reserve and transition into Kotor Municipality

The day begins in the bird reserve Tivatska Solila — the site of historic salt pans that today host more than a hundred bird species.
Before starting the route, we recommend visiting Ostrvo Cvijeća — a small green island off the Tivat coast, with the ruins of the Monastery of Archangels Michael and Gabriel and a quiet beach.
This stage marks the transition from the municipality of Tivat to the municipality of Kotor — from the coastal lowlands to the hilly part of the Luštica peninsula.

Places you will see on the third day

  • Ostrvo Cvijeća and Sveti Marko Island behind it — green islands off the coast of Tivat
  • The Tivatska Solila Reserve — a habitat for more than one hundred bird species
  • The Luštica isthmus — where you cross from the Tivat side to the Adriatic side of the peninsula
  • Mount Lovćen — Montenegro’s most iconic peak, visible on the horizon
  • Loquat, persimmon, mandarin, orange, grapes — fruit trees accompanying you during the second half of the day
  • Impressive views of the Adriatic Sea from the open hills near Bigova
